Today at work my boss arrived from overseas (where he is based). My unhappy feelings about my job were increasing in strength so I decided to grab him for lunch and spill the beans.
I had an idea of what could make me happy and give me a project I can be responsible for. He agreed it would be a great idea and would also be good for the company. I’ll be the champion of a the project that gives companies insight into their employees. Employee satisfaction really interests me (being from a psychology background). By being the Lead Project Manager of this project I’d hopefully be able to get some more client facing work, run workshops and sell the product, as well as do the back end technical work that I’m so good at.
This will give me the variety I need, be a challenge and give me the autonomy to be responsible for an entire product, therefore giving me the confidence of being an important member of the team.
So I’m pretty excited that this new venture may meet all the needs I was missing in my job.
